Beaded bags

Crafty look like Chloe

There are loads of tasty bags about for spring and along with vintage leather, bows, bright colours and tassles, beads are big. At the top end of the market, there's Chloe's beaded canvas bracelet bag which is part of the house's pre-spring collection. The handle looks like two bangle bracelets and the beads are a mixture of wood, glass, crystal and plastic. Expect to pay at least £620 for the Chloe version, or save yourself about £610 by making your own. It's easy to do, the biggest challenge is finding a canvas or cotton bag you want to decorate. Army Surplus stores are a good source of napsacks for about £5. Visit a haberdashery shop or department store and select your beads. Think about a pattern (Chloe's bag follows a floral design) and a colour theme and create your own beaded statement.
