Asian fashion's fast forwardBritish Asian fashion is emerging out of the ethnic style ghetto. This year's Annual Diwali Show in Wembley featured a fusion catwalk show sponsored by Fasian.com, while Cherie Blair and Mel B were among celebrities at the Asian Woman Fashion Show in London. This weekend, Asian fashion is in the news again with the launch of the first ever British Asian Fashion Awards (BAFA) at The Clothes Show 2001. During the week-long event an entire area, the New Deal Fusion Village, is dedicated to Asian style and on 9 December, 10 British Asian designers will show collections on the catwalk to mark the launch.
