Burchill on BeckhamControversialist Julie Burchill has written a book on the cultural phenomenon that is David Beckham. Burchill on Beckham heaps praise on the footballer whose fashion credentials include wearing sarongs, his wife's pants and diamond earrings as well as modelling for fashion magazines and Police Sunglasses. According to Victoria's website, he dislikes Puma, but loves Adidas - handy because they pay him wads of cash. Burchill discusses David's contribution to celebrity culture, endorses his hands-on approach to fatherhood, but reckons that anything Victoria wears "no matter how costly, looks as though it came straight off the rail at Topshop." |
