Taboo star searchHundreds of hopefuls turned up in 80s outfits and queued for hours in London for the chance to audition for Boy George's musical on Friday August 10. The play, which is set to open in the West End this autumn, recounts the early days of London's New Romantic scene. Entitled Taboo It, it features a mixture of real life characters (including Marilyn and Leigh Bowery) and fictional ones as well as original music of the era. George conducted the auditions himself dressed in a purple Philip Treacy hat. Keith George, a singer from Battersea and major Boy George fan sang Karma Chameleon and George joined in. |
