East End VersaceVersace is coming to London's East End. No, Donatella isn't opening her latest store in a bare brick loft but an exhibition of Versace's varnished, lacquered and maquillaged Stepford Wives-style winter 2000 advertising campaign is opening at the White Cube 2 gallery. Given the title, Four Days in LA (The Versace Pictures), the photos were shot by Madonna's Sex book photographer and darling of US and Italian Vogue, Steven Meisel. The images of Amber Valetta and Georgina Grenville, that set the scene for the emergence of hard edge glamour and launched a thousand optical prints tops, have been likened to "the Mannerist portraits of Bronzino and Pontormo".
