Star studentsThis year's Royal Society of Art's Student Design Awards have been announced and the winning designs include Anita Russo's On the Pull streetwear inspired by male attitudes to dating. Russo, who will graduate from the Kent Institute of Art and Design this summer, designed a collection emblazoned with chat-up lines and lonely hearts adverts to win the John Lewis Placement Award. Other winners include Samantha Richardson from the University of Derby whose skin-revealing garments explore the theme of desire and Hillary Turnock from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle whose travel collection includes aromatherapy cashmere wraps and soundproof hoods. |
