Art and FeminismAs with most political movements which grind against the grain, feminism has made a strong impact on the artworld. Art and Feminism, a new book edited by Helena Reckitt, is a diverse collection of pioneering work inspired by the cause which illustrates and exposes gender assumptions and the 'specificity of art' based on sex, race, age and class. The book, which presents work from the 1960s to the beginning of the 20th Century, also includes art criticisms and key texts alongside interviews and statements from many previously unpublished artists.
