New soundFancy a free CD? Then head to your nearest Diesel store or stockist*, where copies of the CD featuring winners of Diesel's U-Music 2001 competition can be found. Sponsored by Diesel, the project's aim was to find the best unsigned UK talent in five genres of Electronic, Drum'n'Bass, Hip Hop, Scratch DJ and R&B/Garage. At the Awards bash held in London last Wednesday, the winners included the Cardiff-based Urban Poets in the Hip Hop category, a South London based all-female trio who "sing cool and sexy R 'n' B with a message" and the Golding Brothers, whose Garage music features a "bubbling bassline".
