Life's workPioneering feminist photographer, Imogen Cunningham, constantly courted controversy. In 1910, her images of nude women caused an uproar and some 36 years later her photo of a nude, pregnant woman was deemed revolutionary. Despite exciting extreme reactions, Cunningham carried on working up until just before her death aged 93. This month sees the launch of Imogen Cunningham, Life and Work 1883-1976, a book which brings together the best of her photographs from genres including close-ups of flowers, bold nudes and portraits of celebrities, writers and artists including Cary Grant, Gertrude Stein, Frida Kahlo and Man Ray.
