The real graffiti bagsLast year, high fashion designers (including Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano and Dolce & Gabbana) were pretty upfront about using working class culture as inspiration for the ghetto fabulous trend. Now, the traditionally working class art of graffiti is being hijacked by bourgeois designers to help sell their expensive wares. Stephen Sprouse's graffiti version of the Louis Vuitton logo is being snapped up by fashionistas and celebs everywhere. But far more original and much less tacky are DIY versions. For a truly unique accessory, take any bag and plaster it with the names of your favourite bands and some badges. |
