Not a hatAvant-garde designer and architect Ron Arad is more famous for his turntables set in broken concrete blocks and his inflatable Memo beanbag, than his headgear. But this is set to change thanks to Arad's signature inside-out bowler hat he always wears. Arad created The Soundtrack portable CD rack for design company Alessi, and now it has re-produced his hat. Called the Cappellone (£29, from Alessi, 22 Brook Street, London W1 enquiries 020 7491 2428), it's described as "not a bowler hat, not a baseball cap, not a beret, not a cloche, not a riding hat.....and yet a little bit of all of them". |
