Good timesWhen photographer Kate Schermerhorn moved to London from the US in 1995, she felt more American than ever. This led Kate to travel the States, exploring and documenting what Americans do for fun and the resulting photographs, America's Idea of a Good Time, will be exhibited at the Tom Blau Gallery from March 22 (to April 21). To observe her native culture, Kate visited demolition derbies, crazy golf and machine-gun shooting ranges, bingo halls and Orio Cookie stacking competitions. The exhibition's book by Dewi Lewis Publishing (£12.99) will be available in April. |
