London Fashion Week has only just ended and the next round of London-based catwalk shows is already looming on the horizon. Alternative Fashion Week 2001 takes place from March 19-23 at Old Spitalfields Market (Brushfield Street, London E1). 50 new designers, from the UK and abroad, will be showing their collections inspired by subjects as diverse as Quakers, origami, human vertebrae and 40s tailoring. Admission is free to both Alternative Fashion Week's daily catwalk shows (at 1.15pm) and the market selling clothes, textiles and accessories (noon to 3pm).
