Elastic fantasticIf there's one essential item you need next winter, it looks as if elastic is it. On both John Rocha and Antoni + Alison's winter 01 catwalks, outfits were given a modern twist with elasticated waistbands. This gave dresses a pleated effect above and below the waistline, where the fabric had gathered. Stretchy waistbands are also a more comfy option for next winter, after summer's tight wide belts and corsets. But beware if you have a thick waist or large hips - the elasticated look isn't flattering to larger sizes. |
