Sexy secretariesDespite decades of feminist struggle, women are still heavily under-represented in managerial positions in the UK. However, designers continue to offer versions of the sexy secretarial look as epitomised by 007's Miss Moneypenny. Sheila Maloney's latest collection, Surface, offers pleated chiffon blouses and Markus Lupfer suggests tight-fitting pleated blouses that work with trousers as well as classic pencil skirts. Meanwhile nearly every designer has chosen to show their winter collections with crippling stiletto court shoes, proving that the stereotypical image of the half staid/half saucy secretary still hasn't left us. |
