Clothes for cabbies

Matthew Williamson, Anna Sui, Miguel Androver and Shelley Fox are just some of the designers which offered uniform-inspired outfits in their spring/summer 2001 collections and it seems that even taxi drivers have caught onto the trend. Radio Taxis, the largest cab firm in London, have hired Logo UK to create driver's uniforms inspired by Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Now commuters, tourists and general city-dwellers should expect to see their friendly cabbie wearing matching combat trousers, baseball caps and T-shirts, which are available in XXXL so that "larger cabbies do not feel self-conscious".
