Edgy EdwardianStyles inspired by the Edwardian era are creeping into fashion. Chanel's couture collection features loads of Edwardian touches like high-necked blouses, puffed sleeves and sashes tied in large bows at the rear. Meanwhile some designers, including Alexander McQueen at Givenchy and Mulligan, were influenced by the 1950s Edwardian revivalists - Teddy Boys - reworking details such as quiffed hair and boot lace ties. You could even take the whole Edwardian theme to the max and volunteer to live in Channel 4's 1910 Country House as either a rich family member, or a domestic servant from the year 1910. |
