The slang thangTalking like a cockney geezer might not be your idea of chic, but rhyming slang seems to be hip. The website Music 365 has launched its own 'Popney Rhyming Slang' which sadly integrates the names of stars into the English language so now Lil' Kim means hymn and Wu-Tang Clan means transit van. Fashion magazine 'Elle' is also promoting the trend and the latest issue features a style rhyming slang section called 'Chic Speak'. Expect to hear fashionistas sounding like jam rolls by referring to the toilet as the 'Jimmy Choo' in the very near future. |
