Vintage shoe saleAfter the recent death of shoe designer Joseph LaRose, scouts from Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan searched through his huge footwear collection. They sourced shoes and handbags from Hollywood's heyday - perfect for today's glamorous collections. Now some of LaRose's footwear, including marabou slippers and sequinned stilettos and platforms, are to be auctioned at sothebys.com between 8th February and 1st March. Anyone lucky enough to purchase some LaRose footwear will be in good company - during the peak of his career in the 50s he designed shoes for Hollywood legends Joan Crawford and Jayne Mansfield. |
