Fashionable timesWeighed down with hundreds of photographs, Harriet Worsley's book 'Decades of Fashion' (£10, published by Konemann, available from all good bookshops) charts fashion's changing face during the last century. Beginning with the 1900s Belle Epoque period of lacey, frilly and corseted silhouettes, Harriet visits major fashion moments including 'The Glamour Years' of 30s cinema, 40s 'Make Do and Mend' and the late 60s and early 70s 'Daisy Age' before arriving at 90s street fashion. Vivienne Westwood's infamous knickerless twirl outside Buckingham Palace after collecting her OBE and Princess Diana clones from 1984 complete with pie crust collar blouses and Di-like hair dos also feature. |
