YSL's love lettersIt's simply called 'Love' (£7.95, published by Harry N Abrams, available from all good bookshops now) and it contains the collection of cards which Yves Saint Laurent has sent to family and friends over the last 30 years to wish them a Happy New Year. All designed and colourfully drawn by Yves himself, each card incorporates the word 'love' and gives an idea of what was inspiring the French designer in that particular year. In 1970 the card featured serpents wrapped around a heart, in 1980 a guitar drawn in the style of Picasso and in 1999 two kissing doves. |
