Rumours that Hussein Chalayan has just gone bust have yet to be confirmed, but he might not be the only designer to go out of business soon. Scientists at the Yonsei University, South Korea have invented software that can design clothing all by itself. According to reports in the 'New Scientist' the new technology takes garment patterns and then 'mates' them - resulting in new designs being bred with the best elements of the parent patterns. The software could make fashion designers, like car workers, redundant as anyone with a computer can create their ideal design.
