Beautiful snapperNot long after Lee Miller was pulled to safety from the path of an oncoming car by magazine magnate Conde Nast, her features were on the cover of American 'Vogue'. But it was while modelling during the late 20s that Lee developed an interest in photography, which lead to her moving to Paris to become Surrealist photographer Man Ray's collaborator and lover. The Photographers Gallery exhibition, 'Lee Miller: A Life Less Ordinary' (now until 27th January) features work from her British 'Vogue' shoots where she popularised location fashion photography by posing models in streets, airports and cars to her role as a US war correspondent. |
