Absolut iceOn 2nd January, ice blocks cut from a Swedish frozen river will set off for London so artist Anya Gallaccio can create her ice sculpture. Work on the Absolut Vodka sponsored ice sculpture, outside London's Design Museum, will begin on 24th January and the public is invited to "see it, touch it, shape it, taste it" before it melts into the Thames. Anya is creating an ice sculpture because she is "fascinated by the history of the Ice Fairs that used to take place on the River Thames in the 15th century" and will use the same ice source used to build Sweden's celebrated Ice Hotel. |
