Carnation street Like most things that reach the very depths of uncool, carnations are now the height of fashion. It's been a big season for flowers with corsages and floral hair accessories everywhere you look and carnations have become the coolest blooms in Blighty. Hip florists Wild at Heart used a combination of purple and pink carnations to great effect at Betty Jackson's spring/summer 2001 show. Fortunately, carnations are amongst the cheapest flowers - so use in abundance for maximum impact. For stylish displays use bundles of carnations in one single shade or mix multiple contrasting colours and only let the heads show.
