B&B tales Artist Susan Lipper's book 'Bed and Breakfast' (£5.95, available now and distributed through Cornerhouse) is an obsessive catalogue of rural life from the perspective of an outsider. Charting Susan's experience of travelling around West Sussex, the book documents her effort "to find her own meaning in an alien culture". Images of hotel rooms heavy with fussy decoration are juxtaposed with images of quintessentially English gardens, a deserted mini cab and a sprayed toilet door to create a sense of unease.
