Battle Burberry Don't expect to see much of Burberry's much-emulated check around next summer because the label is experimenting with some new patterns. In a bid to avoid over-exposure, the British label - which has enjoyed a renaissance in recent seasons - has come up with variations on the beige, red and black check. In the spring 2001 collection the check has either been enlarged, used solely for linings or transformed into a slightly abstract red and black camouflage print. Camo patterns were used by several designers for next season's ranges and look set to be the hottest print next year.
