Gucci grabs McQueenFinally we've found the real reason why Alexander McQueen was wearing a Gucci hat recently. Not to upset his Givenchy bosses or because he was to take over Tom Ford's role as the brand's head designer, but because the Gucci Group has just acquired a little over half of the Alexander McQueen label. According to the 'London Evening Standard', Gucci now owns 51% of the McQueen label, with the British designer retaining the remainder. Unlike his deal as designer at Givenchy - which he is expected to quit next October - McQueen will have total creative control over the label. |
