Dome dolliesNever mind that there's only 38 shopping days till Christmas. More importantly it's only 15 days to the Miss World 2000 extravaganza. As a further inducement to down tools and tune in to the contest's 50th Anniversary it will be beamed live (via Channel 5) from the nation's very own Millennium Dome. Created in 1951 by the late Eric Morley, who sadly died a few hours after the photocall for this year's event, Miss World 2000 - to be hosted by Jerry Springer - promises to be bigger and better than ever with previous year's winners making an appearance. To be eligible, contestants must be aged between 17 and 24 and although swimwear is featured "simply to ensure that the contestant has a reasonable figure" it is not worn in later rounds where "the accent is on talent, poise, personality and general knowledge". |
