Woven and wonderful

Mulberry style belts consisting of plaited leather look set to continue as a fashion staple this season, whilst woven leather moves from accessories into clothing. Leading the way is Italian label of the moment Bottega Veneta - recently re-vamped by British designer Giles Deacon and superstylist Katie Grand - with its very 80s woven leather jacket. It won't be long before the high street follows suit with more affordable versions, but until then rummage through second-hand shops for similar gems. Creative types could even try knocking up their own woven garments with strips of leather from a charity shop leather jacket and a book on basket weaving.
