Diva snaps When a Manhattan department store devotes its Fifth Avenue windows to your photographs and two galleries in New York are exhibiting your work - all 27 years after your death - you must have been pretty special. The 'you' in question is Edward Steichen and a new book, 'Steichen's Legacy: Photographs from 1895-1973' (published by Alfred A Knopf, £70, available from good bookshops now), with text by his widow Joanna, offers a broad retrospective of his career. As well as photos from his years at 'Vogue' and 'Vanity Fair', the book also includes Steichen's snaps of silver screen legends including Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo.
