Cultural tiesFor a long time ties were the preserve of businessman and old blokes and still have conservative connotations. But the neckwear designed by extreme artists for Cultural Ties is anything but conventional. Contemporary artists who are not adverse to shock tactic, including the Chapman Brothers, Jeff Koons and Gary Hume, were asked to create ties to raise funds for UNICEF. And they're not just for men - Jerry Hall wore one on stage in 'The Graduate'. As well as being exhibited at the Jariwala Westzone Gallery (Clifford Street, London W1), 300 limited edition ties of each design are on sale now in Selfridges, London priced at a whopping £250 each. |
