Fuelling thought Design trio Fuel Design's last book was a round up of off-the-wall internet sites but their latest, 'Fuel 3000' (published by Laurence King Publishing, £30, available in all good bookshops now) is a touch more serious. A "major manifesto", 'Fuel 3000' identifies three concepts, 'memory', 'choice' and 'jealousy' and examines them by a graphics means. As well as collaborating with writers, the design trio also used photographers, including Juergen Teller, a composer, illustrators and architects "to set a new standard in issue-led narrative". Although thought provoking, the mix of film stills, a musical score, drawings and photographs is also amusing. Particularly someone who has in her career been 'owned' and linked to so many products, Kate Moss, asking "Can I own myself?". Whether a devotee of art and graphics or interested in contemporary culture, the book provides a plentiful supply of brain food.
