Brand newExploring branding, advertising and consumers' attitudes towards them, the Victoria and Albert Museum's (South Kensington, London SW7, enquiries 020 7942 2000, from 19th October) exhibition 'Brand.New' will put into perspective just how potent branding is today. Three installations will address different issues from 'what is a brand?' to the problems of brand counterfeiting. The exhibition will also highlight the importance of the design of mass market products like the Kellog's cornflake packet and monograms for high fashion labels such as Versace and Louis Vuitton. 'Brand.New' will also examine how brands make promises from keeping us safe to making us popular and consumers' recorded testimonials will reveal how brands are used to create an identity. |
