Think of England Think of England and what do you visualise? If you were Martin Parr it'd be Ascot, charity shops, seaside resorts, cups of tea and nasty shoes. The photographer's latest book 'Think of England' (published in September by Phaidon, £24.95, enquiries 020 7843 1234) is an affectionately satirical and opinionated photo-essay about the identitiy of England. In his journey around England between 1995 and 1999, Parr used a ring flash camera normally chosen for taking medical photos, which ensures Parr's images are colour-saturated and at times look hyper-real.
