Snowballs in summer

A giant snowball may be staring you in the face if you happen to be in or around the City of London on 21st June. Made from pre-millennium Scottish snow, 13 snowballs will be placed at strategic central London locations as part of 'Snowballs in Summer', an art installation by sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. Three of the snowballs' slow disintegration (expected to take five days) and the reaction of passers-by will be broadcast live at Eyestorm, the online platform for artists to showcase and sell photographic work. Goldsworthy specialises in making sculptures from natural objects, which are often not made to last and are worn away by the elements. When the snowballs melt, they'll reveal wood, stones, berries, Highland cow hair and chalk.
