For over 20 years photographer Anton Corbijn has been immortalising the rocka-stocracy as well as a number of writers, musicians and models on celluloid. For his new book, 'Werk', (£28.50, from Art Data, enquiries 020 8747 1061), the first major collection of his work, Corbijn has pulled together over 180 of his portraits taken since 1977. Corbijn chooses to bypass the well travelled road of glamorising celebrities and instead captures something more telling and interesting - Kurt Cobain's back ravaged by Courtney Love's fingernails, Bono as Robert de Niro's character in 'Taxi Driver' and a naked Christy Turlington crouching like a wild animal.
