Rock snapsThe Gallaghers, their missus, Richard Ashcroft and other pop fashion icons of today owe a lot to the 1960s. Back then The Rolling Stones, Marianne Faithfull and Jimi Hendrix were the original stylish hell-raisers - well before Robbie Williams was even born. And now some of the most iconic images of these 60s popsters are going on show. The Focus Gallery (43 Museum Street, London WC1A, telephone 020 7242 7191) is exhibiting Gered Mankowitz's stunning photos of the Stones, Faithful and Hendrix until 17 June. The gallery is open from 11-6, Tuesdays to Saturdays and admission is free. You can also purchase some of Mankovitz's work online at the Genesis website. |
