Valued commentArtist Luke Oxley is fascinated by the idea of branding and logos. So much so that Cinch (5 Newburgh Street, London W1, telephone: 020 7287 4941), the shop he runs, is giving away stickers bearing a logo uncannily similar to that found on Tesco budget products. So far the supermarket chain has not approached Luke regarding copyright - although the concept of logo ownership is what his work plays on. Cinch stocks mostly Levi's Red and Vintage label but you won't see logos and branding in or outside the shop. Pick up your stickers from Cinch and stick them where you want (galleries, posh shops, yourself, etc). Luke suggests you can be as radical as you like. |
