Racing rappersStock car racing, the sport of white trash, hardly seems the kind of thing to influence a hip street trend. Yet rappers and kids in the USA - and very soon UK trendsetters - are lapping up NASCAR leathers. NASCAR (National Association Stock Car Auto Racing) clothing includes leather caps, jackets and trousers in gaudy colour and logo combinations. The rule to choosing NASCAR threads is to abandon restraint and go for the loudest garments. Don't bother learning the rules of the sport though - hip young things who wear NASCAR gear wouldn't go near a race track. Leather jackets can cost anything from $280 to $1,600 for a limited edition Jeff Hamilton number at Jacketshop. |
