High street saviourCongratulations to Alexandra's Stylianidos, winner of the British Fashion Council and TopShop's design competition. Alexandra's prize is to have her collection manufactured and then sold in selected TopShop stores. But for every high street winner, there are losers. Hardy Blechman, of Maharishi has had versions of his work blatantly reproduced by high street stores. One design company were informed by a high street retailer that they'd attempted to copy their T-shirt prints but failed because they couldn't work out their printing technique. Altruism rules OK. |
