Chances are you've never really thought about the effort that goes into shop windows and interior displays - even though they're often the reason you enter the shop. Bet you never knew that Miss Selfridge windows have been inspired by clubbers and literature. Miss Selfridge's creative director, Tim Whitmore, came up with the plastic tubing wigs for the store's window displays after seeing clubbers with similar hair. Last autumn's dummies with bandaged heads were inspired by the novel 'Memoirs of a Geisha'. Whitmore also won the 1999 Best Display Person award at last year's International Display Week.
