Westwood wardrobe

Lucky Romilly McAlpine has been dressing in Vivienne Westwood clothes since 1990 and now she wants us to see them. The Museum of London (call: 020 7814 5777) will be exhibiting McAlpine's collection of Westwood garments and accessories, in the first exhibition ever devoted solely to the dotty designer's work. Westwood, who gave us busty corsets and bustles, doesn't seem the natural choice for the wife of the former Treasurer of the Conservative Party, but Romilly McAlpine has been one of her most significant patrons for years. Westwood devotees can catch the exhibition between 7th April to 25th June, or buy the accompanying book, 'Vivienne Westwood: A London Fashion' (Philip Wilson, from £9.99) at most good bookshops from April.
