Off-schedule at LFWThis London Fashion Week sees an influx of new hip designers showing off-schedule. For the past couple of seasons the fringe contingent has been gathering momentum. Designers including Sophia Kokosalaki, Sheila Maloney and Shelley Fox have quickly moved into scheduled positions courtesy of the British Fashion Council. This season the BFC has decreed that 18th Feb is un-officially an off-schedule day on-schedule! So, who to watch? Luella Bartley's eponymous collection is now in its third season (off-schedule) with London stockists Tokio and Whistles regular buyers; after much press attention last season Arkadius is again off-schedule, and Maria Chen will show for the second time without support from the BFC. First timers include Russell Sage, Jessica Ogden and Polish newcomer Marjan Petoski, who will show in association with London stockist Kokon Tozai on Wednesday 16th Feb at the Polish Club, London SW7. British urban print & fabric specialists Uniform will make a private presentation on Sunday 13th Feb. Marcus Constable returns to showing in London on 15th Feb, at The Landmark Hotel, with sponsorship from Ben Sherman, for whom Constable has created a capsule collection for women only, which will be available at selected Ben Sherman stockists this autumn. |
