US on a T-shirtWhat does America mean to you? British design company Born Free asked creative peeps from the world of fashion, art, film and music to answer this question on a white T-shirt and displayed the results in a three-day exhibition. DJ Howie B felt-tipped 'Big Sur Big Bottom' on his generic American T, arty chick Jibby Beane created herself as Marilyn, while artist Barry Reigate responded with a dollar sign Internet address. A total of 66 T-shirts made up the entire story and although the exhibition was a blink and you've missed it affair, Born Free hopes to see the wall of Ts on show in the US. Perhaps our American cousins will answer back with their own interpretations of British culture! For more information email Born Free. |
