Melting jewelleryNow you can buy jewellery which is so precious you can't actually wear it. Conceptual jeweller Naomi Filmer, who has produced accessories for designers Hussein Chalayan, Tristan Webber and Shelley Fox, has created a range of ice jewellery. The range, which is on show at the Judith Clark Costume Gallery (112 Talbot Road, London W11), includes moulded pieces of ice which fit to the face or body and then disappear due to the wearer's body heat. The collection has been described as 'creatively ironic' and is part of Filmer's attempt to provoke the same emotional reaction as to washing or the process of melting. The ice jewellery can be viewed alongside other delicate pieces made from silver, glass and soap until 11th November when the exhibition will travel to Tokyo. Prices start at £100 (bring a cooler!). For further information about Filmer's 'Be-hind Be-fore Be-yond' exhibition, visit the Judith Clark Costume Gallery site. |
