Siereks are a two brother, one sister team originally from Bielsko-Biala, an industrial Polish city. Aga (born 1974) studied fashion and jewellery design in Krakow then spent two years in Germany before moving to London in 1999 where she quickly became Creative Director for Arkadius. Brother Pshemko (born 1981) is a hairdresser and model whose haidressing helps fund the label. Tomek (born 1975) studied architecture before moving to London to join his siblings.
Aga admits that there are mad rows and although she has the most fashion design experience, is adamant that collections are created by the whole family. "It is funny, good and not good," she says. "we do have terrible arguments but at the end of a day it is a family challenge."
The family is happy to operate outside of mainstream - text accompanying the last collection claimed: "We've got no direction, no style, no tendency. Is it good? We don't know. Who cares."

Siereks create fashion for the moment. With the first collection Aga says they "tried to show the people that something ugly could be interesting." The second collection was inspired by battered posters in the streets melding into layered collages. For the family, the clothes are the medium through which they communicate to people. "It could be art, film, video or music but for us it is clothes."
The Siereks siblings create clothes however they want, as Aga explains: "we don't have anything to lose, we don't have any backers so there's no one to answer to. We only have a responsibility to ourselves." Whether you rate them or think the clothes ridiculous, you can't deny the originality of these collections or pure inspiration behind them. Siereks are on a mission to "make the unfashionable things fashionable" and the dream is simply "to survive" .
