"The most important thing at the moment is to be cheerful and the best way of doing this is with colour" says Stephanie Last of her graduate collection entitled Did I win?. "The collection was inspired by anything English, a politician said our national dish was Chicken Tikka which made me think about all things British, fetes, going to the beach and a whole mish mash of stuff". For the collection's styling Stephanie "looked at the idea of fetes and getting prizes, hence the rosettes which are printed with my surname in the middle. I liked that idea because you don't get prizes for coming last."

While at college Stephanie, worked for Markus Lupfer - a tutor on her course, he asked her to help with his A/W 2000 collection making samples. That experience and working for Tracey Boyd "were very enjoyable" and "an eye opener too. It's not until you're in that situation you realise what it's like to run a business - it's your whole life." Before starting her MA Fashion Womenswear at the Royal College in October, Stephanie hopes to get some fashion related work that might possibly continue throughout her course. "I'm happy to do all sorts, particularly research and trend predictions".
