Minor denim deities and devilsEarl Jeans Beloved of models this jean label is planning a major UK push. Avoid if you don't want to be associated with saddo model types. Their website is under construction. Lee Considered cool sometime back in the 70s, Lee Jeans is in serious danger of becoming a label with clout once more. Watch out for a new ad campaign and the new range for spring 2002 range. Lee Cooper Lee Cooper has launched Butt Couture (bumster style jeans) to challenge the dominance of the hipster but even this can't make Lee Cooper trendy again. Pepe Somewhere Pepe lost the fashion plot. Pepe attempted to gain some credibility by hosting the Soul Hole party in London in July 2001. It didn't work - just check the website if you need convincing. They are now planning to reissue many old styles for spring 2002. Own brands It's 2001, there is no shame in wearing an unbranded pair of jeans. In fact, high street shops at the cheaper end have never offered such good denim ranges. Girls, check out New Look's cheap and cheerful low rise jeans for around £20 and Miss Selfridge and TopShop have a huge choice of cheapies. Geezers get yourself along to Uniqlo for the best bargains.
