The second ever London Men's Fashion Week kicked off on Tuesday evening with a change of venue admidst a fair bit of confusion. Last year, the shows were held at the regal Cafe Royal in Regent Street and benefitted from the cool ambience of this posh London hotel.

This year, the autumn/winter 99 menswear shows have moved to another majestic location, The Royal Horticultural Hall in Victoria. Unlike last season when everyone was full of excitement and enthusiasm for London's first series of shows dedicated exclusively to menswear, cancellations were made moments before the start.

Despite being listed on the official schedule it was announced that Neil Adams has opted to 'show privately' this season. Next, came news that Ken Odimah's show was not taking place, "following the last-minute withdrawal of sponsorship". And finally, Jeffery Green pulled out claiming the van transporting the collection had been impounded by the police because it bears a striking resemblance to one used in a robbery (at least that's what a spokesperson told f.uk).

The uncrowned prince of British menswear, John Richmond, managed to dazzle a celebrity studded audience with an eclectic show. This was followed by a party at the ultra hip Voodoo Lounge where guests included most of the cast of 'Eastenders' who quietly mingled with a demure crowd. There was no mad dancing or drug-fuelled frolicking and, as one punter commented, "this is not very fashionable for a fashion party".
